Newland Concert Brass celebrates 25 years and celebrates future stars!

The Bathgate Partnership Centre has been alive with the sound of brass music on Monday evenings as Newland Junior Band continues to grow from strength to strength! The band was delighted when 11 year old baritone player Craig Glendinning won his section in the Rotary Club of Bathgate's Young Musician of the Year. Horn player Susan Wood from Newland Senior Band also won her section. This follows on from an exciting time for the Junior Band as eleven new players joined the beginners section last month and the existing Junior Band members were also delighted to welcome Ross Carlyle on drums. Junior Band conductor Sarah Findlay said, "It's great to have an influx of new brass players. Percussion is also a great addition to the band as it plays an important role in the modern brass band." Members of the Junior Band took part in a concert with the Senior Band in the Regal Community Theatre last month to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Newland Concert Brass.
