Robbery at Johnstone Band Hall, a warning to all.
Johnstone Silver's Band Hall was broken into between 10pm on Tuesday 29th May and 7pm on Tuesday 5th June. Thieves made off with 2 Bb basses, 2 Eb basses, 3 Euphoniums, 1 Tenor Horn, 3 Cornets, 2 Baritones, 3 Trombones and 4 Bells from a set of tubular bells. They didn't take the cases so it's likely the instruments have been stolen for scrap metal. Some of the instruments were ex. Junior Band instruments, but still a great loss to the band.
Anyone with any information should contact Johnstone police station or Clare Thomas Johnstone Band Manager on 07976572666.
In these days of high value for scrap metal, it should be a warning to us all.
Johnstone are due to play at the Olympic Torch Parade in Lochwinnoch on Friday 8th June so hope the have enough instruments!
