LAND O'BURNS INVITATION BRASS BAND CONTEST 2011
The Dalmellington Band is delighted to announce that the annual Land O'Burns Invitation Brass Band Contest will take place on Saturday 20th August 2011 in Troon Concert Hall.
As in previous years, with fantastic support from South Ayrshire Council, we are able to offer tremendous Prize Money and attract the best Bands from Scotland and England.
There are 12 Bands entered to compete this year:
Coalburn Silver
Dunaskin Doon
Exchange Communications Whitburn
Fishburn
Johnstone
Lochgelly
Kilmarnock Concert Brass
Kingdom Brass
Kirkintilloch
Shotts St. Patrick's
Tullis Russell Mills
Unison Kinneil
For the first time at our Contest, after noting feedback from past competitors, we will be having a split draw.
The first draw (Bands 1 - 6) will take place at 9.30am and the second draw (Bands 7 - 12) will take place at 11.30am.
Each Band will perform a programme of own choice concert items that must not exceed 20 minutes, but must feature a section of the Band in at least one item.
Play commences at 10.30am and tickets, available at the door on the day, are £6 and £4 concession.
The adjudicator will be announced on the day of the Contest.
Further details if required can be obtained from the Contest organiser Sandy McAughtrie at lob@dalmellingtonband.org.uk
