New Committee for East of Scotland Brass Band Association (ESBBA)
The appointed office Bearers are as follows:-
Chairperson - Mark Bell
Vice Chairperson - Julie Sanderson
Treasurer - Grant Brown
Secretary - Jan MacDougall (Temporary for three months)
Jan has kindly agreed to take on the Secretaries position for three months, however we are in need of a committed individual to take on the secretary position. If you are interested, or if you can recommend anybody, please let me know and I can take any proposals forward.
It is the new committees intention to focus our immediate attention on Youth support and development. To that end we are to begin the planning of youth events throughout the year, utilising the Youth Development fund that SBBA kindly provide to Area Associations. Our Solo and Ensembles Championships take place on 22nd January 2011 at Deans Community High School. The adjudicator for the event is Ray Tennant and accompanist Alan Hastie. I'd like to make you aware that there is an Open Solo and Ensemble section in addition to the normal age groups for youths. Also, we are in need of some volunteers to help out with the running on the day, so if you could spare some time, even an hour or two, it would be much appreciated. Our next meeting shall take place on 6th February 2011 in Howden Park Centre (pending confirmation of space) at 3pm or as soon as the solo and quartet championships finish. I hope to see you then.
