First for St.Ronan\'s at Edinburgh Tattoo
ST. RONAN'S SILVER BAND TO TAKE CENTRE STAGE AT EDINBURGH TATTOO
St. Ronan's Silver Band is about to make history by appearing at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo later this month. The Innerleithen outfit, which this year celebrates its 200th Anniversary, will play as the pre-show entertainment at the world-famous event on Friday 20 August. "The Band is delighted to have been given this opportunity to perform at one of the world's favourite festivals of music," explained Band Secretary Keith Belleville. "We have organised a series of special events to mark the Band's Bicentenary this year and this is sure to be one of the highlights," he added. The Band has prepared a short programme of music which will include local airs as well as well-known music to entertain the Tattoo crowds as they take their seats. Captain Alex Knox will conduct the Band on the Esplanade. 2010 marks the Diamond Jubilee year of Edinburgh's celebrated Royal Military Tattoo which attracts over 210,000 spectators every year to the Esplanade at Edinburgh Castle
