Phoenix From The Flames
Bathgate Brass Band returns! Rejuvenated and enthusiastic, aiming towards the future.
For much of 2008 the band has been in the doldrums, having lost a number of players following the Scottish Championships in March. Since the Summer with the appointment of Conductor, Stephen Baird, and an unprecedented influx of players, the band make their return to the contesting calendar at the Scottish Challenge Shield in Perth on 29th November 2008.
From a small core of players, a full team has been formed and stability restored. With a new re-designed website having gone live on 19th November 2008 this marks a new chapter for the band, and a bright future is anticipated.
Plans for a youth development programme and instrumental tuition at all levels are now being formulated to assist with the promotion of brass bands in the community.
