New Conducting Team at Clackmannan
Clackmannan District Brass Band are pleased to announce a new conducting team for the forthcoming concert and contest season. The band have secured the services of Paul Kiernan as Resident Conductor, and Raymond Tennant has accepted the offer to lead the band at the Scottish Regional Championships 2007, which will be held in March at the Caird Hall, Dundee. The band are looking forward to working with this partnership, and are also looking forward to learning from the vast experience and exposure to top level banding these two fine musicians have had.
Paul is currently Solo Trombone with the Scottish Co-op Band, and is regarded as one of the top exponents of the instrument in the country. He has worked under the baton of Howard Snell, Frank Renton, Dave King, James Scott and Dr. Nick Childs, and the band are sure that this experience along with the experience of conducting bands in recent years will contribute to them progressing musically and achieving some concert and contest success.
Ray needs little introduction, particularly in Scotland. In the past ten years he has been MD at Newtongrange, Unison Kinneil, Johnstone, Kirkintilloch Kelvin and most recently the associate conductor of the Scottish Co-op Band, and has enjoyed numerous contest successes with all at regional and national level.
