BBC Radio Scotland Presents Sunday Bandstand
John Wallace returns to BBC Radio Scotland this August for another series of Sunday Bandstand.
This year, Sunday Bandstand presents live performances from six of Scotland's top brass bands recorded at the West Lothian Festival of Brass in Livingston. The West Lothian Festival is Scotland's leading entertainment competition for bands and the varied concert programmes have made it a hit with participants and audiences alike. The first three programmes in the series feature highlights from the heats, and for the last programme John Wallace is in Livingston to follow all the drama of the final, as two of Scotland's top bands compete head-to-head for the first time in over twenty years.
Over the first three weeks there's also a chance for listeners to nominate bands for a special Sunday Bandstand Audience Award, and to win a year's subscription to the British Bandsman. To nominate a band, simply e-mail or write to the programme, saying why their performance in the heats impressed you.
