Kirkie's Night To Sing
The Kirkintilloch Band, conducted by Steve Bastable, will warm up for the British Open contest by giving a performance of the test piece 'A Night toSing' at an openconcert in the KessingtonHall, Bearsden, Glasgow on Tuesday 13th September at 7.30 p.m. At the same concert the Kirkintilloch Kelvin Brass, conducted by Alistair Orr, will perform the National 1st section test piece 'Pageantry'. Admission is Free and all are welcome.
Both bands report that preparations for their respective contests are going well with both enjoying the intense rehearsals. Kirkintilloch will be looking to emulate or better last years fourth place in the prestigious British Open contest. The Kirkintilloch Kelvin brass band have an enviable record at the National Finals topped off by their 3rd section victory in the Albert Hall in 2000.
