The Scottish Brass Band Association

The Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) is an organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting brass band music throughout Scotland. Established in 1895, the SBBA has become the cornerstone for brass band activities across the country, nurturing talent from youth and community ensembles to top championship groups. The association is renowned for organising prestigious competitions such as the Scottish Championships, which serves as a qualifier for the UK National Championships, alongside the Scottish Open and a variety of youth and solo/ensemble contests.

Beyond competitive events, the SBBA is deeply committed to music education and community engagement. Through a range of training programmes, workshops, and funding initiatives, the organisation provides invaluable support to musicians of all ages, ensuring that the rich tradition of brass banding continues to flourish. With strong links to international bodies such as the European Brass Band Association, the SBBA not only celebrates Scotland's musical heritage but also forges connections across borders, fostering a global network of brass band enthusiasts.
