St Ronan’s looks to welcome new players

Scotland’s longest-established brass band is inviting brass and percussion players to become part of the friendlyu and community-focused Third Section outfit.

Founded in 1810 and based in Innerleithen, St Ronan’s Silver Band takes part in concerts, parades, community events and competitions throughout the year.

The band would be delighted to hear from experienced musicians, players returning after a break and anyone looking for a welcoming new band. Players of all ages are supported, and lifts may be available from a number of directions.

Band secretary Keith Belleville said: “We are proud to be a friendly and supportive band with a strong place at the heart of our community. We enjoy a varied programme of engagements and offer the opportunity to make music, perform and develop alongside a great group of people. Anyone who is interested is very welcome to get in touch for an informal chat or come along to meet us.”

St Ronan’s Silver Band rehearses every Tuesday and Friday at 7.30pm in its band hall in Hall Street, Innerleithen.
