Entries invited for this year’s Scottish Youth Championships

Entries are now invited for this year’s Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships, the final event in the three-contest Scottish Festival of Brass at the Perth Concert Hall.

The event will take place on Sunday 29 November, featuring youth bands in five competitive sections – Novice, Intermediate, Development, Senior and Premier – and a non-competitive category.

Bands in the Novice section are to play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 10 minutes which must include a set work as follows:

Novice Section:

Any movement from A Debut Suite (Junior Band Series by Rob J. Hume)

Bands in the Intermediate and Development sections are to play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 15 minutes which must include a set work as follows:

Intermediate Section:

Any movement from The Brasserie! (Junior Band Series by Alan Fernie)

Development Section:

Any movement from A Little Ragtime (Junior Band Series arr. Alan Fernie)

Senior Section bands can play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 20 minutes playing time.

Premier Section bands can play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 25 minutes playing time.
