Volunteer treasurer / trustee needed to join the SBBA executive

The Scottish Brass Band Association is looking to recruit a volunteer treasurer to serve as a trustee on its executive committee.

The treasurer plays a key role in the good governance of the association, providing oversight of its finances, supporting budgeting and financial planning, and reporting to the executives and membership.

The day-to-day bookkeeping is handled by the SBBA bookkeeper, so the role centres on financial oversight and strategy rather than routine administration.

As a trustee, the treasurer also contributes to the overall leadership and direction of the SBBA.

The role would suit someone with an interest in brass banding and the work of the association, has confidence reading financial reports and budgets (a finance or accounting background is welcome but not required), and a modest time commitment of a few hours a month alongside attendance at executive meetings.

This is a voluntary, unpaid position offering a real opportunity to give back to the brass banding community in Scotland.
