NYBBS Reserve and Children’s soloists take to the stage

The NYBBS Reserve and Children's Band solo competitions took place yesterday.

The Reserve band soloists were Lewis Smith, Daniel Toller, Gregory Blackman and Hope Hill who all played to an impressive standard. Congratulations to Hope on her win and to Lewis on being awarded the runner-up place.

The Children's band competition saw seven young musicians take to the stage: Hollie Reid, Oliver Morley, Carter Burchill, Samuel Dick, Evie Boax, Sophie Yu and Finlay Gallagher. After an excellent afternoon of performances, the results were announced with the winner being Evie, runner-up Hollie and joint third Oliver and Carter.

Congratulations to the podium finishers and well done to all of the participants for their hard work and commitment in preparing for the competition. Thank you also to Alan Friel for his thoughtful adjudications and Gareth Bowman for providing piano accompaniment throughout the day.
