Young NYBBS baritone star joins Whitburn

Another young National Youth Brass Band of Scotland baritone star has joined Whitburn Band following the departure of Charlie Boax to the Cory Band.

Emily Kroegler has moved from Buckhaven & Methil Miners’ Brass Band on principal baritone and will perform in a section alongside the experienced Evelyn Bradley.

Emily, 16, started playing with Buckhaven and Clackmannan junior bands, before transferring Buckhaven’s senior band two years ago, with whom she performed at the National Finals in Cheltenham. 

Earlier this year, she won the Intermediate Section of the Northern Counties Youth Solo contest. She will begin her studies at the RCS Junior Conservatoire in Glasgow in a few months time.

Emily said: “I’m thrilled to be starting my journey with the band and I am especially looking forward to seeing myself develop within the band. Everyone has been so welcoming, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for me here.”
