Brass players welcome at Make Music Day concert at The Kelpies
Thursday 28 May 2026Brass players are being invited to join in Make Music Day celebrations at The Kelpies in Falkirk on Sunday 21 June.
This year the Making Music Scotland organisation is partnering with the Big Summer Wind Orchestra & Choir to put on an incredible public performance of music, from well-known songs to the biggest and most popular melodies, including pop, classical and folk music.
The event, from 4.30 pm to 7 pm, will be directed by Callum Rookes – aka That British Conductor Guy – who many brass banders will know well.
“Whether you're a seasoned professional or an absolute beginner, sporting any wind or brass instrument, or your voice, you are welcome to join the Big Summer Wind Orchestra & Choir,” says Alison Reeves, manager of Making Music Scotland.
“We'll be performing in Helix Park near the Kelpies statues, in a wonderful musical afternoon. No experience required, no rehearsal expected - just join in and have fun!
“We'll be serenading passersby with a varied selection of music and it promises to be an exciting event – so sign up now!”
Anyone interested in taking part can get further information from the event’s website and can sign up here.
