Innerleithen hosts summer band camp

Tuesday 19 May 2026

Registration is now open for an Innerleithen summer band camp which will be held in July.

The event, which will take place on Tuesday-Thursday 7-9 July at the Church of Scotland, Leithen Road, Innerleithen EH44 6HX, is open to all brass / percussion pupils, providing an environment which:

  • is fully inclusive to meet the needs of all players
  • builds community
  • reduces the traditional summer break in playing
  • gives an opportunity to play over a concentrated period
  • promotes other courses, such as the SBBBA workshops and NYBBS
  • ensures participants have fun playing music

Led by Stuart Black and Keith Belleville, the camp will provide tuition for small group and larger ensemble playing as appropriate.

“All leaders will have up-to-date PVG and St Ronan's Silver Band’s child protection policy and procedures will be in place throughout the event,” said Keith Belleville, course director. “House staff and other volunteers will be in attendance throughout the three days.”

All sessions are free and open to all. You can sign up children and young people online here. The deadline for applications is 31 May. The summer camp is supported by

  • Scottish Borders Brass Band Association
  • Peeblesshire Abbeyfield Trust
  • Traquair House
  • Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Walkerburn & Traquair
  • St. Ronan's Ex-Standard Bearers' Lassess Association.
