Youth open day by Irvine & Dreghorn Brass

Currently celebrating its 50th anniversary year, Irvine & Dreghorn Brass is putting on a Youth Band Open Day on Tuesday 12 May.

The event will show potential new members what opportunities exist in learning to play a brass instrument or percussion.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer lessons and ensemble opportunities to people and players or non-players of all ages, including lessons in brass and percussion,” said a band spokesperson.

“All our teachers, tutors and helpers have a wealth of musical experience and are really looking forward to welcoming new players to the five-tier organisation that celebrates a special milestone this year – half a century of music making in the Irvine and Dreghorn  areas.

“We even have a refreshments available for those who want to simply come along and listen!”

The Open Day will take place between 5 and 7pm in the Irvine & Dreghorn Brass band hall at Dunlop Memorial Hall, Main Street, Dreghorn KA11 4AQ
