Young instrumentalists vie for Scottish solo title

Thirty-five instrumentalists and 13 ensembles will be taking part in the finals of the Scottish Youth Solo and Ensemble Championships at the Bellshill Salvation Army Hall, Gladstone Street, Bellshill ML4 1 AT, on Saturday.

After a series of area qualifying events, the entrants will be performing their chosen music for the consideration of the adjudicator, respected trumpet player and musical director Hedley Benson.
