Scotland’s best young soloists in national finals

There’s an opportunity to enjoy some of the country’s best young brass musicians when the finals of the Scottish Youth Solo and Ensemble Championships take place at the Bellshill Salvation Army Hall, Gladstone Street, Bellshill ML4 1 AT, on Saturday 28 March.

After a series of area qualifying events – the last of which was held in Fife at the weekend – the instrumentalists will be performing their chosen music for the consideration of the adjudicator, respected trumpet player and musical director Hedley Benson.

The competition is divided into age groups: Junior, Intermediate and Youth. There will also be an Open Solo contest after the Youth Solo and Ensemble finals which will feature up to ten senior entrants.
