Scots feature in 4barsrest 2025 awards

Congratulations to all Scottish musicians who featured in the 2025 4barsrest awards.

Capping an outstanding year as Scotland’s championship Band of the Year, the cooperation band was also selected as runner-up in the 4BR Band of the Year category behind Brass Band Willbroek of Belgium.

The band also achieved third place in Contest Performance of the Year for its ‘La Premiere’ winning stage presentation in Brass in Concert.

The Co’s principal conductor Katrina Marzella Wheeler was chosen as runner-up as Conductor of the Year behind Frans Violet, conductor of Brass Band Willebroek. The duo were also named as co-conductors in the 4BR composite Band of the Year.

4BR Player of the Year runner-up was Scots euphonium Chris Robertson, who plays with Brighouse & Rastrick, who was also picked in the composite Band of the Year alongisde Whitburn principal tenor horn Andrew McMillan.
