Scottish musicians feature in 2025 4BR award nominations

A number of Scottish bands and musicians are included in the shortlist for this year’s 4barsrest awards.

the cooperation band has been nominated in the Band of the Year category and its principal conductor Katrina Marzella Wheeler in the Conductor of the Year section. The band is also in the running for Contest Performance of the Year for its winning ‘La Premiere’ set in the Brass in Concert Championship.

Scots euphonium Chris Robertson, who plays with Brighouse & Rastrick, and Whitburn solo horn Andrew McMillan are in the Player of the Year list.

Among the lower sections Band of the Year nominees is Arbroath & Carnoustie and in the Newcomer of the Year category is the Fife Daytime Brass community band.
