Entries invited to this year’s Borders Entertainment Contest
Tuesday 3 June 2025The Scottish Borders Brass Band Association is now inviting entries for this year’s Borders Entertainment Contest to be held at the Town Hall in Jedburgh on Saturday 1 November.
The event, which is open to bands in Sections 2-4, requires competitors to play a 15-minute programme of music which, on this occasion, must include at least one piece of music that has been composed or arranged by a person born after 1990.
Entries should be sent to contest controller Christine Calvert by 23 September.
Bands will be competing for:
- 1st Prize Trophy and cash
- Most Entertaining Band Trophy and cash
- 1st in Section 2 Trophy and cash
- 1st in Section 3 Trophy and cash
- 1st in Section 4 Trophy and cash
- Best Soloist
- Best Instrumentalist
- Best Bass Section
- Best Percussion Section
- Deportment
Last year’s winning band was Annan Town.
