Get ready for the Scottish Solo and Ensemble Championships!

Now that the dust has settled on another successful Scottish Championships, we turn our attention to the next significant event – the Scottish Solo and Ensemble Championships which will take place on Saturday 29 March at the Bellshill Salvation Army Hall ML4 1AT.

Here is a quick reminder that the Youth Solo and Ensemble area qualifiers for the finals of the competition should send in their entries to contest organiser Ann Murray at sbbavp@gmail.com.

Also, for any players interested in entering the senior category, the Open Solo contest –for which there is no pre-qualifier – will take place immediately after the Youth finals. The number of entries will be capped to 12 so early application is required. Get your entry form here.

Entry fee for the Open Solos is £10 and should be paid in advance to the Scottish Brass Band Association, Sort Code 80-08-85, Account No. 00797191. Please add a payment reference OS2025/Name of Entrant.

• The final area qualifying event, the Fife Charities BBA Youth Solo and Ensemble contest, takes place on Sunday 23 March at the Dunfermline Learning Campus, starting at 10am.
