Bands get back to doing what they do best, being at the heart of the celebrations!

Monday 6 June 2022

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this weekend provided the perfect setting for communities to cast off the cloak of the pandemic and commemorate Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne in a way that only the British can.

Brass bands too took advantage of the party atmosphere to get back to doing what they do best, being at the heart of the celebrations with their special brand of uplifting musical entertainment.

Facebook and other social media have been full of photographs of brass musicians taking centre stage in Scotland’s special jubilee events, street and garden parties, community gatherings, concerts and parades.

Whether you are a fan of the monarchy or not, this sundrenched weekend has been memorable for the way in which people have embraced the spirit of the occasion to have a good time. And brass banders have been no different!

So to all those bands that dusted off the after effects of Covid and got back to reminding their public what they have been missing for the past couple of years by taking part in the widespread Platinum Jubilee celebrations, SBBA salutes you!
