Open rehearsals by Whitburn and Kirkintilloch ahead of the Spring Festival

Two Scottish championship bands are holding open rehearsals ahead of their appearances in the Spring Festival at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Saturday 7 May.

Whitburn Band, conducted by director of music Professor Nicholas Childs, will be working on the set test piece, Dynasty by Peter Graham, in preparation for their participation in the Grand Shield at 7-9pm next Wednesday (4 May) at West Calder High School in West Lothian.

The event is free to attend, and all are welcome. 

The Kirkintilloch Band will also be holding an open rehearsal next Wednesday under the musical directorship of Steven Mead at Glasgow City Centre Salvation Army, Houldsworth Street, Glasgow, starting at 7.30pm. Again no entry fee is required.

The band has been enjoying its preparations of Freedom by Hubert Bath for its performance in the Senior Cup competition. Other concert music as well as the test piece will be played during the evening.
