Contest performance recordings from the Scottish Festival of Brass sent to band secretaries

Over the last three years, SBBA has been working to improve the media coverage of its key events, resulting in live broadcast of the results from recent competitions, the live streaming of the NYBBS 2021 summer concerts and now the release of videos of every performance from last November’s Scottish Festival of Brass.

These achievements have been made possible thanks to the dedication and expertise of SBBA’s developing media team and with support from Creative Scotland. 

Contest performances at the 2021 SFoB have just been published and YouTube links to every band’s individual performances have been emailed to band secretaries for their members to enjoy and to encourage feedback in relation to the coverage. 

It is planned that SBBA’s coverage of events will carry on improving and that brass musicians will continue to enjoy recordings of their on-stage performances. However, as the cost of providing this service is not inconsiderable, from the Scottish Championships onwards it is proposed that bands wishing to receive future links to their performances consider making a nominal donation to the SBBA media fund.

A suggested donation of £20 per event / video link would allow SBBA to continue to maintain and develop coverage of events, as well as ensuring the recordings can be preserved for future enjoyment by everyone.
