Selkirk Silver on look-out for new conductor as 125th anniversary approaches

Thursday 25 November 2021

Selkirk Silver Band, based in the Scottish Borders, is inviting applications for the position of conductor/musical director.

The successful candidate will be working with current conductor Colin Kemp who, after many years of service, is taking a well-earned step back to assistant conductor.

The band is shortly to enter the 3rd Section and so is seeking a talented and committed individual who is willing to progress the band back to the 2nd Section and higher.

With a full complement of players, Selkirk is entering its 125th anniversary year and has a full and varied programme for the 12-month period ahead.

The band rehearses on Mondays and Thursdays 7pm to 8.45pm in its own band hall where Covid protocols are in place and adhered to. Lifts from Tweedbank train station can be arranged.

This position was advertised just before Covid hit so previous applicants are invited to re-register their interest.

Applications should be sent in strict confidence to selkirksilverband@yahoo.com entitled Conductor Vacancy.
