Virtual recording of folk lament is latest offering from Dalkeith and Monktonhall

Sunday 17 January 2021

A second virtual offering from Dalkeith and Monktonhall Band is this beautiful haunting arrangement of a traditional folk song by Philip Harper, The Water of Tyne.

This recording follows last year’s performance of Baggy Trousers and was selected because it is a favourite of cornet player Kirsten Johnson’s mum – so this video is dedicated to her.

It is also a lament that is liked by musical director James Chamberlain and which the band enjoy playing.

So sit back, relax, click on https://youtu.be/Ny6gYCqyJt8 and enjoy this rendition of The Water of Tyne by Dalkeith and Monktonhall Band.
