Richard Evans book may be the perfect Christmas gift

Richard Evans is well-known throughout the UK brass banding community – and particularly in Scotland through his work with NYBBS – as one of the most charismatic conductors and brass tutors of his time.

He has published a second book, Still Beating, as a follow-up to his highly successful Dick the Stick autobiography. It’s full of anecdotes and incidents from his lifetime of music making – a worthy tribute to the talented and multifaceted man and his musical life.

Richard has gained a wealth of experiences throughout his colourful and successful career in music and, at the same time, captured the hearts of audiences and players alike across Britain and the world.

He told SBBA: “Until the lockdown in March, book sales were doing OK – and Scottish bandspeople were the best customers! Now that Christmas is approaching, members of NYBBS or other bands may wish to buy a copy for mum, dad or special friends.”
