Matthew’s lockdown wedding surprise from Newland Concert Brass

Sunday 8 November 2020

A wedding during Coronavirus restrictions on public gatherings is not one you would have out of choice, but for Newland Concert Brass cornet player Matthew Campbell it was better than having to wait indefinitely.

So yesterday, he went ahead with his marriage to Angela Davidson – and, much to his surprise, a small group of players from his band and their musical director Simon Railton were at the ceremony to put on a virtual performance of Denis Wright’s arrangement of La Réjouissance from Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks.

Thanks go to Keven Anderson for putting the whole thing together and for playing percussion on the video which you can see on Newland’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/194600341071/videos/795701287673947/

Congratulations to both Matthew and Angela and best wishes for a long and happy future together from Newland and from SBBA!
