Newland musicians couldn’t wait to get ‘Back to Band’

Newland Concert Brass members have been preparing for when things get back to some form of normality.

On 27 October, players held their first ‘Back To Band’ zoom session with guest tutor Gareth Bowman, musical director of Coalburn Silver Band.

There was a superb turnout of 30 players for the online event. Newland’s musical director Simon Railton and Junior Band conductor Karen Heenan also joined in for what was an informative and enjoyable session.  

Band manager Karen Heenan said afterwards: “It was a fantastic workshop covering many aspects of playing, including lots of great advice for practising brass and percussion at home.”
