Lifetime Achievement Award - Tom Allan

Tom Allan has been a faithful servant of the Scottish Brass Band Association  since 1996 having has served as secretary since 2005 and Registrar since 2008. Tom as the gift if keeping a situation calm when any problems arise and has been a great team organiser at  SBBA events.  In all of his activities and work for SBBA he is supported by his family and his wife Ann.

Tom has been interested in music all his life and is a  member of  Westerton Male Voice Choir, before that he sung with Paisley Male Voice Choir for 30 years, he has also been involved in Paisley Accordion Orchestra, and has been a Group Executive Member of the 7th Paisley(JNI) Scout Group since 1980. Since 1982 he has been with Barrhead Burgh Band working on the administration side.

Tom is  also a member of the Executive Committee of the West of Scotland Brass Band Association where he has served since 1990. For the past few years he has been a member of the Organising Committee for the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland and responsible for many elements of the course including accommodation of students taking part in the Easter and Summer courses. His helpful and calm approach is appreciated by the many students and staff who attend.

A worthy recipient of SBBA’s Lifetime achievement award, we thank you Tom.
