Gala performance for Arbroath

Arbroath Instrumental Band are putting the finishing touches to their programme for a gala concert next month.

Their performance at St Andrew's Church in Arbroath on Friday September 13 will include a special guest appearance by Arbroath Instrumental Youth Band.

This will be the band's first concert under the baton of new MD Bruce Wallace.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased from McDougalls in Carnoustie, from band members or at the door on the night.

The band are also excited to announce their invitation to perform at a prestigious event celebrating the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, which will be held at Arbroath Abbey next April. The event will also involve more than 300 singers, with original music being composed by Professor Paul Mealor.

Arbroath are also keen to attract new band members, particularly bass trombone and back row cornet players.
