Cooperation player to represent Scotland in Montreux

The cooperation band are please to announce that their young and very talented EEb bass player Gavin Johnson has been selected by the EBBA (European Brass Band Association) to represent Scotland in this years European Youth Brass Band at the European Brass Band Championships in Switzerland.

Gavin will travel to Montreux and will be part of a European Youth Band which will perform at the opening ceremony of the championships, as well as the Gala Concert, as well as the farewell concert in the magnificent Stravinsky Auditorium.

Speaking after the announcement Gavin  said “ I am over the moon to be getting this fantastic opportunity, everyone knows how difficult it is to be picked for this band especially as you are up against the best young players from all over europe, so this is indeed a great honour and privilege for me and one that I am really looking forward to”

But before Gavin packs his bags for Montreux he will be taking the stage with the cooperation band at the Scottish Championships this Sunday.
