Bands prepare for second 'Brass Showcase'

Following the success of last year’s event, a second Brass Showcase is back for 2018 and will take place at Johnstone Town Hall on Sunday 26 August.

The collaboration between Johnstone Band, Coalburn Silver Band, Dunaskin Doon Band, and Newmilns and Galston Band will again showcase the four local ensembles in concert and will see each band perform a 30-minute entertainment programme. Screened visual accompanimemt will also be available while the four bands will receive feedback from both the audience and an adjudication panel.

A Brass Showcase spokesperson commented: "The main idea is to create a  friendly and accessible concert-style event, not a typical contest, but still with a competitive element. It was a great success last year, so we are looking forward to another fun-filled day of music-making."

Come along and enjoy this innovative event taking place at Johnstone Town Hall. Entry will be £5.00 and free to under 16s, with first band on at 2.30pm.
