Band needed to complete Make Music Day line-up

Thursday 24 May 2018

There are four weeks to go until the 2018 Make Music Day takes place throughout the UK, and in 120 countries worldwide, and organisers are on the hunt for a brass ensemble to take part.

A flagship event will take place in Edinburgh on Make Music Day – 21 June, 2018 – with one slot remaining still to be filled. Taking place on the Waverley Roof Mall, right next to Waverley train station, the available time slot is from 5.45pm until 6.30pm.

Make Music Day will take place in over 120 countries worldwide

Event organisers commented to SBBA: “We have one slot left for our Edinburgh flagship and it would be brilliant if we could have one of your SBBA members at this event. It is situated in the outdoor space on the busy corner of Princes Street and Waverley Bridge. As we have minimal amplification, the venue will suit groups which are loud without need of amplification - brass bands, drummers, pipers, large choirs etc.”

“It's a high profile spot with an amazing backdrop. We'll have a professional photographer, a PR team and some Make Music Day branding (t-shirts, banners) so the publicity opportunity is great. Also, there will be outdoor bars on the roof and the sun will definitely shine (we promise!) so a lovely opportunity for some fun, midsummer playing and socialising.”

Groups can request the slot by emailing:- scotland@makemusicday.co.uk while more information on the day itself can be found at www.makingmusic.org.uk. Groups, venues, individual musicians and networks are welcome to hear about how to connect with this vibrant celebration that takes place in over 750 cities in 120 countries around the world.
