No residential places left at NYBBS' Summer Course

Friday 13 April 2018

The high uptake of residential places for the 2018 Summer Course of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) has led to the Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) releasing a statement confirming that only non-residential applications for the course will now be accepted.

The statement from Education Officer John Boax reads as follows: "We are delighted that so many young people have signed up to take part in the 2018 Summer Course - it's looking like a record year and we are looking forward to meeting up with everyone in July."

"This does, however, mean that we are now accepting applications for non-residential players only - there are no residential places available for any age group at present."

"We are operating a waiting list for residential places so players are welcome to apply as non-residents and have their names added to this list in case a space opens up. These players will still be able to take part in the course but will have to make their own travel and accomodation arrangements. Names can be added to the list without applying for a non-residential place, but this does come with the chance of not being able to take part at all."

As always, SBBA is more than willing to answer any questions anyone may have - these should be directed to John Boax at johnboax14@gmail.com.
