Loss of Creetown Band long serving member

Harry Heaver, a long serving member of Creetown Silver Band, died last week. Harry was 99 years old and had been a member of the band for around 60 years. He only stopped playing when he was 93.Harry was originally from Lancashire and moved to the Creetown area after war service.

In his time with the band he played cornet, flugel, horn and baritone. He had been a committee member ,  tutor to the juniors , band president and a life member of SBBA. In all his time as a player he very seldom missed a rehearsal or engagement.
The band will lead the funeral service on 29th December in Monnigaf church at 11.00am. Past members are invited to participate.
