Adjudicators announced for 2016 Scottish Championships

THE Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) has announced the adjudicators for the 2016 Scottish Championships.

John Miller and Ian Brownbill will judge competing bands in the championship section on Philip Sparke’s Cambridge Variations while David Thornton and John Doyle will listen to Edward Gregson’s Essay in the first section.

Second section bands playing The Mermaid of Zennor, by Philip Harper, will be adjudicated by Ian Brownbill and John Doyle. John Miller will be joined by Kevin Wadsworth for the third section as bands get to grips with A Cambrian Suite, by Michael Ball. David Thornton and Kevin Wadsworth will judge performances of The Journal of Phileas Fogg, by Peter Graham, in the fourth section while John Boax will offer feedback to bands in section 4b.

The event will take place in Perth Concert Hall on March 12 and 13, 2016. Order of play on the Saturday will see the second section get proceedings under way at 9.30am, followed by the third and first section contests.

On Sunday the fourth section will begin at 9.30am, followed by section 4b. The Scottish Championships will conclude with the championship section.
