CONTEST RULES

Version effective from 1 January 2005

Appendix IV
Rules of the Scottish Brass Band Registry

Restrictions affecting New Registrations and Transfers
1.
No player may be registered with or transferred to a band with which the player was previously registered within a period of 6 months from the date when the player previously ceased to be registered with the band in question unless:-
(a) exceptional circumstances apply and the agreement of the Committee is obtained following a written application from the player setting out the circumstances of the request or
(b) the rules relating to a cancelled registration (card held by the Registry) apply.
2.
A maximum of two new registrations (where any such registration follows the cancellation of the player’s registration with a different band within the immediately preceding period of 12 months) and/or transfers per player will be permitted within any 12 month period unless exceptional circumstances apply and the agreement of the Committee is obtained following a written application from the player setting out the circumstances of the request. For the avoidance of any doubt, in calculating the number of registrations and/or transfers effected by any player for the purposes of this rule, (a) the new registration of a player who has not been registered with any band in the immediately preceding period of 12 months and (b) the re-registration of a player under the rules relating to a cancelled registration (card held by the Registry) will not be taken into account.
3.
For the avoidance of any doubt, these rules will apply where the player is seeking to register under the rules for registration of unregistered players and where the player is seeking to register under the rules for registration of players by transfer.
