As part of a fundraiser for Coalburn Silver Band, the band have been given the prize of a fourball at the Dalmahoy Golf and Country Club, Edinburgh. 25-July-2009 Dunaskin Doon Band Celebrate 140 Years
Dunaskin Doon Band has recorded a CD entitled ‘Reflection’ to be released at their Celebration Concert on Saturday 12th September in the Walker Hall in Troon. The Guest soloist will be the BBC Young Musician Of The Year Peter Moore. 19-January-2009 Broxburn & Co-op Joint Concert
The Scottish Co-operative and Broxburn and Livingston Brass Band are holding a Spring Concert on Friday 27th February from 7.30pm onwards at Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Broxburn. 22-December-2008 Funding Opportunity for Local Youth
The Heritage lottery Fund is seeking applications for its Young roots programme, which awards grants of between £3000 and £25000. The programme is run in partnership with Youthlink Scotland, and aims to involve young people between 13 and 25 in finding out about their heritage and developing their skills. Young roots projects must be led by young people and stem directly from their interests and ideas. More information can be found on Heritage Lottery fund's website

12-December-2008 Barhead Burgh Band Honoured
East Renfrewshire Council have announced that they will recognise that Barrhead have attained their 100th year as a 'Burgh Band' although there has been a band in existence within the town since 1819.
A civic reception was held for players and other invited guests on Friday 12 December at Carlibar Primary School, Barrhead after which a short concert was given by both Barrhead Burgh Band and Levern Valley Community Brass.
