Dalmellington On Course For Victory

The first Scottish Brass Band Golf Championships at Bonnyton Golf Club on 5th August was a great success despite the low number of teams taking part.

 

Nigel Durno from Just Music had attended to every detail of the Championships and the staff at Bonnyton Golf Club were first class. David Urquhart gave an amusing account of his involvement in brass bands at the evening dinner and a great day was concluded with the presentation of prizes.

 

The event will now have a regular spot in the Brass Band calendar, so look out for next years date being announced shortly and get your entry. All money raised on the day will go to support the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland.

 

 

 

The results from the 1st. Scottish Brass Band Golf Championships are as follows :

 

1. The winners of the 2009 Scottish Brass band Golf Championships are the four man team representing The Dalmellington Band with a combined total of 118 stableford points.

 

2. Second equal were the teams from The Whitburn Band and Just Music with 111 stableford points each.

 

3. The best individual stableford score was Chic Cullen from The Whitburn Band with 36 stableford points.

 

4. The best gross score was John Sloan from The Dalmellington Band with gross score of 74 ( the course par is 72).

 

5. The Longest Drive went to Chic Cullen from The Whitburn Band.
