On Thursday, 19 th March, the Scottish Co-op Band will host an open rehearsal in the Couper Institute in Glasgow in which five bands (one from each section) will take part. The participating bands will be Scottish Co-op, Kirkintilloch Kelvin, Croy Parish, Coalburn Silver and Brass Sounds Inverclyde. The event will give the bands concerned an opportunity to perform their respective test pieces in front of their brass band peers and any supporters or members of the public who may be in attendance. It will also give them the chance to hear the test pieces which have been set for all sections in the competition and also to get to know each other a little better. It is also hoped that the event might generate some interest in brass banding on the part of non band members who might be in attendance.

Mr.Russell Gray, who will be conducting the Scottish Co-op Band at the forthcoming Scottish Championships, will introduce the evening’s activities and there will be time available at the end of each performance for discussion and comment should the need arise.

Admission to the rehearsal is free.
