Barrhead Burgh Band have announced that they will set out on a themed ‘Musical World Tour’ concert at Eastwood Park Theatre, Giffnock, Glasgow on Thursday 30 October 2008 at 7.30pm.
The band are also delighted to announce that local company, Barrhead Travel.co.uk one of the largest independent travel agents in the U.K. have agreed to be the main sponsors of the event by providing a prize of a 1 week holiday for 2 people to the Spanish resort of Salou which will be won by a member of the attending audience during the evening of the concert? This fantastic sponsorship will be the first major involvement of the company in the brass band field.
Although the theme for the concert may not be entirely new, the organisers believe that their ideas for innovative presentation, use of lighting and other multi-media effects will make this a quite unique event among brass band concerts.
With the support of a number of other significant sponsors, members of the audience will have the chance to win not only the prize holiday mentioned above but also one of various other prizes which will be relevant to the country or continent of a particular piece played by the band.
Among other artists appearing with the band will be ‘Levern Valley Community Brass’ a junior band formed in September 2007 as a result of a partnership between East Renfrewshire Instrumental Music Service and Barrhead Burgh Band.
Consisting of young brass musicians from the local area and under the direction of their M.D. and teacher Mr. Brian Deans, this young band are proving to be one of the success stories of youth brass banding in Scotland.
All tickets for the event are priced at a very reasonable £10 and include the chance to win one of the fantastic prizes on offer.
