Pre-contest favourites Clackmannan as expected, returned to the Championship section but they had to settle for second place behind their local rivals Boness & Carriden. The band from West Lothian ended their exile from the top section in good style with a winning performance of the test piece. Close behind the qualifying bands came local heroes Lochgelly who were inspired under Paul Drury from the dreaded number one draw. Boness & Carriden and Clackmannan now go forward to represent Scotland at the National Finals in Harrogate in September and we wish them well.
