Dalkeith & Monktonhall claimed the 3rd section title in Glenrothes and with it a swift return to the 2nd section they dropped out of last year. Joining them in the 2nd section will be Annan Town who also make a swift return to the higher section. The adjudicators said that both these bands stood out from the rest of the field but they ominously indicated that the standard this year was lower than it has been in the past. A remark borne out by the low points awarded in the section. That won't matter to Dalkeith or Annan Town who now go forward to represent Scotland at the National Finals in Harrogate and we wish them well.
