In a reversal of last years fortunes both Renfrew Burgh and Irvine & Dreghorn duly made their expected return to the 3rd section. The adjudicators remarked that both of these bands had stood out from the rest of the field. Irvine had opened the contest and had set a very good marker for the remaining bands to reach. No-one else quite came close enough to that early marker until Renfrew Burgh took the stage. They gave a great performance of the testpiece and the adjudicators agreed, giving them the title by one point from their rivals. Again we wish both bands well as they make the trip to Harrogate to represent Scotland in September.
