St. Ronan’s Silver Band is set to share the concert stage with the Scottish Youth Band Champion at a spring concert on Saturday 22 April at the Memorial Hall, Innerleithen.

The Scottish Borders Youth Brass Band will be putting its final preparations together just a week before its historic appearance at the European Youth Championships in Ostend on 30 April.

St. Ronan’s Chairman David Lindsay commented: “We are delighted that the Borders Youth Band was able to join us for this concert. They have been extremely busy since winning the Scottish Youth Championships in November and really are at the top of their game, so we are very grateful that they will be joining us in Innerleithen this month.”

The Scottish Borders Youth Band is made up of players aged 11-18 from all over the region. The Tweeddale bands are well represented, with many of the youngsters playing principal roles.

Both bands will be conducted by composer and arranger Alan Fernie who has led the Scottish Borders Youth Band for several years and is about to complete his first year as Musical Director at St. Ronan’'s Silver.
