Borders set for busy banding weekend

A busy weekend of banding lies ahead for the Scottish Borders Youth Brass Band as it continues its preparartion ahead of the European Youth Brass Band Championships in Oostende on 30 April, 2017.

Melrose Parish Church will host a 'Champions in Concert' event on Saturday, 25 March which sees the Scottish Youth Champion band joining forces with newly-crowned Scottish Champion Whitburn Band in a joint concert. Organisers of the event, proceeds of which will help fund the upcoming trip to Belgium, have announced that tickets for the concert will still be avaialble at the door on Saturday evening. 

The following day sees the Scottish Borders Brass Band Association's (SBBBA) Spring Brass and Percussion Workshop, which will be held at the Langlee Complex, Marigold Drive, Galashiels, TD1 2LP. The event, supported by the Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) and Creative Scotland, will involve the Scottish Borders Youth Brass Band continue its rehearsal preparations with Alan Fernie ahead of the trip to Belgium. David Robb and Stuart Black will also be involved on the day, rehearsing the 'B' and 'C' bands ahead of a joint concert at 4.00pm in the afternoon, to which all parents, guardians and friends are invited.
